Hello again!

Has been a while since the last blog post, hasn’t it?
Well, I’ve been doing stuff!

First, here’s my new logo:

I got some comments from fans and friends on it, which include something like “It’s awesome.” and “I’m still used to your last logo!”.
I also showed it to some of my teachers. their comments included “The color combination is very powerful.” and “It looks like you made it in MS Word.”
Anyway, I’m keeping it. Not only to spare you from having to get used to yet another one, but also because this logo feels like ‘me’. The previous logo was just.. vague.. and although I am kinda vague, it just didn’t fit me.

Moving on,
I only recently found out how popular Facebook is.
It was the #2 most visited website in 2011. It also seems very likely that ‘Facebook’ was the most frequently entered search term on Google.
So I thought by myself, “Why aren’t I using it for the whole Benimation thing?”. That’s why I made a Benimation Facebook page.

New Sketch?

Ok. This is gonna be a weird post.

So I’m trying to finish an animated sketch today, but at the same time I’m writing this blog post. (So you can scroll down to see if I did it xD)

arg.. blender won’t work on my MacBook..

So I’m going to open up Flash now..
Great, all art is done, lip-syncing complete.. now just find a scream sound and animate a character running away..

I played around with the calculator in Mac OS. (I made it talk).

I think I’m gonna use one of Flash’s build-in sounds for the scream. I know, I’m lazy

For how many frames should he scream.. hmm, what’s 270 – 185? Mac OS calculator..

Actually it looks quite good without the character running away, I’m almost finished! Still lazy

Music! Almost forgot it! I made some piano loops in GarageBand a while ago..

I’m probably going to make more of these. They don’t require too much time, and since I go to Fontys University of Applied Science I don’t have that much time anymore.. And I’m lazy.

Has been a while since my last blog post..

There haven’t been any ‘big’ videos lately, mainly because we’re still working on Actual Film..
There have been some ‘small’ videos, though!

I also got addicted to singing synthesis (making a computer sing). Which explains this post’s title; that’s the phoneme system the English version of probably the most popular singing synthesizer, Vocaloid, uses.
These were made with Hatsune Miku (Japanese) for Vocaloid:


And this one was made with UTAU, using Shinya Yume, which was made by OkitaLean. It’s a cover of the demo song for a new Vocaloid, which can sing in Korean. This new Vocaloid is also going to be Vocaloid3, which seems to be a quite awesome new version. UTAUloids have been able to sing in any language from the moment it existed, however.. Well, here’s the video :

Now I’ll go back to planning Actual Film.. If all else fails, I’ll replace the missing shots with CGI xD

We haven’t filmed anything yet.. but we were going to..

Being Us

This is what we made instead of Actual Film in the first week of our summer holiday. Actual Film isn’t cancelled or something, oh no!
I know the sound quality is pretty bad, that’s why I’m looking for better ways to record the audio. I was thinking of either using my USB mic and a laptop, or voice everything in post-production.

I got AutoTune! and what better way of trying it out than AutoTuning the spoken wikipedia article on my favourite game, The Game! (uploaded on International Lose The Game Day of course)

A Flight

I’ve been into 3D stuff; both 3D modeling and stereo 3D (read: hey-I-can-orbit-around-this-by-using-my-computer’s-mouse-3D and hey-there’s-stuff-coming-right-at-me-as-soon-as-I-put-on-these-stupid-glasses-3D)
So I basically combined them, I hope you’ve got some of those old cardboard red-blue glasses, otherwise you’ll have to find out how cross-eyed 3D works!

Actual The Mine of Forgettyness-ish

so I finished that The Cube of Forgettyness-ish thingy a while ago:

We’re also writing the script for the actual film I was going to make. We got a pretty good philosophical background-story, only we haven’t written much..

In other news, I designed an iPhone icon for Cakebomb:

OMGWTFBBQ! Bing said: “That is awesome! If we ever do make an app, we will use that icon.”!

oblivious CKV-ish thingy

We finished the CKV project!

It looks pretty good, though I thought it would be better if it was actually in the same order as the script I wrote.. It was fun to make anyway.

I said before that the next animation would be “The Mine”. I lied. I’m first going to make a short called “The Cube of Forgettyness-ish” (thingy).

I’m also planning to make some short live-action films.

oh yeah, Hunted is finished!

I’m still working on the project for CKV, but my computer in exploded to Germany for reparation. Also Declan wants to film everything on a flip HD, which he hasn’t bought yet..
I also started writing the script for The Mine, now just wait for Wouters suggestion.

Next blog will probably be when my computer exploded back to the Netherlands,

Dear HD Test..

I finished Dear Popcorn!

I also uploaded an HD 1080 test. it took a whole week to render it in Maya!

Also, I’m going to name the halloween special “Hunted” and I’m going to make it a bit shorter.. just a few more lines and it’s done.

Expect ‘Hunted’ to be finished before Xmas, and remember, everything tastes better with cheese!

Hunting CKV

Hi there,
I still didn’t finish the halloween special, but I will soon (I hope).
Also I’m going to call it “Hunted”, because it wasn’t too halloween themed anyway.

I also have to make a short film for CKV (Art and Culture Education). I’ll work on this with Jeroen (Hachigo), Björn (Roger) and Declan. We had to choose between animation and live-action, but it we’ve chosen both. Me and Declan will probably upload it to YouTube. I’m not sure if we’re allowed to do it in English, if not, I’ll add subtitles.

By the way, I got an egg, please feed it
